2014 New York Auto Show: 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI Price Revealed

Volkswagen has confirmed its 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI will be sold for $25,215, including an $820 shipping fee.

The automaker's announced the price this week at the New York Auto Show.

The new price reflects a $195 price increase compared to the base price of the previous-generation two-door GTI.

Volkswagen said the price applies for the S trim model in two-door form with a six-speed manual transmission.

Confirmed standard features for the new VW vehicle includes ambient lighting, LED foglights, a touchscreen radio, and a leather-wrapped multifunction steering wheel.

The top-of-the-line 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI Autobahn, available only with four-doors, has been listed for $30,415, including shipping.

The two-door 2015 Volkswagen Golf GTI SE starts at $28,215.

Interested customers can expect the seventh-generation Golf GTI to arrive at dealerships in June.

Golf TSI and TDI vehicles will arrive at dealerships in August, according to VW.

Those who choose the six-speed DSG dual-clutch automatic transmission option will have to spend $1,100 more.

Before the end of 2014, Volkswagen will offer a GTI Performance package for Golf vehicles, for $1,495. The package includes: electronically controls limited-slip differential, larger brakes, and gets a 10-hp boost over the base GTI.

Volkswagen's new GTI delivers 25 mpg in city driving and 34 mpg on the highway, according to the EPA.

Volkswagen is celebrating 40 years of Golf vehicles this week at the New York Auto Show.
