Ford has announced that its 2014 Ford Transit Connect Wagon has earned the highest five-star overall safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

The Transit Connect Wagon received five stars in the side crash test, and four stars in front and rollover crash tests.

The vehicle comes equipped with a number of safety features, including six airbags, like side curtain airbags for all seating rows.

Optional features listed for the Transit Connect Wagon includes forward-and rear-sensing systems and a rearview camera.

Ford's optional MyKey technology can be programmed to limit top speed vehicle, and restrict incoming calls and text, when paired with a cell phone, adjust audio volume, and encourage seatbelt use, according to the automaker's website.
