Bentley Releases Teaser Image of 2016 Bentley SUV (PHOTO)

Bentley has released a teaser image of its 2016 Bentley SUV, which will feature cues taken from popular vehicles like the Flying Spur and the Bentley Continental GT, according to the automaker.

The new SUV's upright grille and round headlights can be seen through a cloud of dirt in the teaser photo released this week.

"It will be the most luxurious and powerful SUV on the market, setting it apart from any other SUV, true to the brand hallmarks of luxury, performance, quality and craftsmanship," said Bentley in a statement, according to the release.

Earlier this year, the automaker released a teaser sketch of its Bentley SUV teaser to help get fans excited.

A Bentley EXP 9 F SUV concept was unveiled by the automaker back at the 2012 Geneva Auto Show.

The automaker at the time described the concept as a "Grand Touring Bentley" that borrowed design cues from vehicles like the Mulsanne and the Continental.

The first Bentley SUV will compete with similar models like the Porsche Cayenne and the Range Rover Sport.

Bentley has yet to announce the name of the SUV, how much it will cost, or when interested customers can expect it to arrive in dealerships.

The automaker also announced this week it expects to sell approximately 3,000 SUV vehicles before the end of 2014.
