2015 Audi A3 In-Vehicle 4G LTE Connectivity Pricing Announced

Audi and AT&T have revealed pricing for the in-vehicle 4G LTE connectivity service set to launch in the 2015 Audi A3 sedan.

Consumers will have the option to pay $99 a month for a six-month plan, or $499 for 30 months, according to Audi.

A3 owners will get a free six-month trial period however, to allow customers to see if they want the service or not.

Audi has plans to introduce 4G LTE capability for its entire lineup eventually.

Audi will become the first car company to offer a Mobile Share data plan option to AT&T wireless customers who wish to add their vehicle to their current Mobile Share plan. The offer starts this summer.

Consumers will not be allowed to roll this into their car payments however.

The service will allow users to get quick connection speed offered by 4G, and create wireless hotspots while inside their vehicles for a number of different devices.

"Having the choice of two data plans gives the consumer the opportunity to choose a contract that works best for their lifestyle and allows them to maintain connectivity in the vehicle for an extended period of time," said Scott Keogh, Audi of America president, in a statement this week, according to the automaker.

Audi-competitor General Motors said earlier this year that the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and the 2015 Chevrolet Volt are among a number of GM vehicles that will come equipped with OnStar 4G LTE.

Other vehicles to come equipped with the OnStar option includes the 2015 Chevrolet Impala and Malibu.
