iPhone Device Wakes You Up to Frying Bacon (VIDEO)

Apple and Oscar Meyer have teamed up for a gadget that could have come in handy for The Office's Michael Scott.

In a season two episode, the character played by Steve Carell burns his foot on a George Foreman grill because he loves waking up to the smell of bacon. With the new iPhone gadget, you may soon be able to wake up to the comforting aroma without risking getting burned.

Called "Wake Up and Smell the Bacon," this hazard-free device hooks up to your iPhone and emits a familiar smell when your alarm goes off, so you can wake up to frying bacon, Yahoo Tech reported.

"You will wake up thinking that bacon is being made for you. In reality, of course, it's just your phone tricking your senses," Yahoo Tech's Jason O. Gilbert described. "You'll have to make the bacon yourself, which you will no doubt want to do after hearing and smelling it as you arise."

The Oscar Mayer gadget isn't available for sale yet, but fans can apply online to win one. The device plugs into an iPhone to emit a bacon smell, while the alarm is the sound of crackling bacon, according to Yahoo Tech.

The bacon scent used for the gadget, which pairs with an iPhone app, is "inspired by bacon of the highest caliber," the Wake Up and Smell the Bacon website said.
