As Tesla Motors waits on an investigation into Model S battery fires from last year and an investor lawsuit, the Palo Alto, Calif.-based company has another fire incident to contend with.

A fourth Tesla Model S reportedly caught fire in a Toronto garage after the owner drove home and parked the vehicle, Bloomberg Businessweek reported via Business Insider.

During the course of a month and a half in 2013, three Tesla vehicles caught fire and raised concerns about the electric car's safety.

The latest incident happened with a vehicle about four months old that was not plugged into an electric outlet at the time, according to a Business Insider source.

After the fire, seven Tesla employees came to the owner's house to review the incident. The company offered to cover the damages from the fire, but the owner declined.

Tesla noted in a statement to Business Insider that every carmaker occasionally deals with fires and that no Model S has been related to death or serious injury.

"The Model S continues to have the best safety track record of any vehicle in the world," Tesla said. "In this particular case, we don't yet know the precise cause, but have definitively determined that it did not originate in the battery, the charging system, the adapter or the electrical receptacle, as these components were untouched by the fire."

Last year, Tesla updated charging software after a November fire that started while a Model S was recharging in a garage in Irvine, Calif., according to Bloomberg Businessweek. The company later concluded that the fire was caused by faulty house wiring.

Tesla's popular electric car has been under investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration due to the fires. CEO Elon Musk told Bloomberg Businesweek last month that he did not know when the review would be completed.
