BMW Introduces 2014 3 Series, i3, i8 Campaigns During Sochi Winter Olympics

BMW introduced a new campaign for its 2015 BMW i3 and i8 and the 2014 BMW 3 Series which will be played a number of times during the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics.

The BMW 3 Series spot, called "Opportunity Knocks," features Brooklyn Decker and warns people about the risk of lost opportunity. This is demonstrated in the commercial by a young man who made the mistake of breaking up with Decker.

"Unlike the young man in the commercial who broke up with Brooklyn Decker, we want consumers to make the right choice the first time, especially when selecting their next vehicle," said Trudy Hardy, vice president of marketing for BMW of North America, in a press statement.

BMW also launched its campaign for the i brand series during the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics. The new i3 all-electric model is made primarily of carbon fiber.

The first BMW i U.S. commercial has been called "Hello Future" and uses words from Sir Arthur C. Clarke, known for writing "2001: A Space Odyssey."

The first spot was shown during the opening ceremonies of the Winter Olympics and will continue to run throughout the rest of the events.

Both vehicles will go on sale in the U.S. during the second quarter of 2014.
