Mercedes-Benz Plans Fall Launch for 2015 S-Class Series

Mercedes-Benz should launch the 2015 S-Class Coupe this fall and is planning a 4.6-liter, V-8 engine for the new sedan.

The luxury model's innovative design uses lightweight yet strong materials and LED lighting, said a Mercedes press release. The engine is planned to be mostly constructed of aluminum with excellent horsepower and torque.

Mercedes seems to be keeping further details on the new S-Class series close to the vest; the company has not yet confirmed an official date for the car's launch.

Potential buyers can sign up for the new sedan's first-arrival list to be notified when it arrives at the Mercedes-Benz of Kansas City showroom, said the press release. They can also contact the Kansas showroom at 816-943-7000.

The new 2015 C-Class, the four-door "sibling" lineup, is slated to debut at the 2014 Geneva Auto Show.

Based on the new Mercedes Rear Drive Architecture, the brand new C-Class is expected arrive at dealerships later this year in sedan, wagon, coupe and five-door hatchback options.

"It is aimed at those markets, like the United Kingdom and Australia, that enjoy taut-feeling athletic cars," one insider said in September during the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show, according to Edmunds.

The C-Class sedan will have a wheelbase of 112 inches. At around 4 inches longer than the current C-Class sedan, the 2015 model should stretch out more than 185 inches.

"This interior will be something special," one Mercedes-Benz insider said. "It has better materials and technology in the interior than the outgoing S-Class and the connectivity is light-years ahead," the source told Edmunds.

Other features confirmed for the C-Class include an air suspension and new architecture.
