Dale Earnhardt Inspired Chevrolet Camaro Sold for $196,000

A 2011 "Intimidator edition Chevrolet Camaro SS sold for a lot more than expected at the 43rd annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Collector Car Auction this weekend.

The vehicle sold for $196,000, according to a report by Fox Sports.

The catalog description for the Camaro SS says that it comes included with a 704-hp V8 engine, along with "a highly modified suspension, chassis, exhaust system, brakes and fuel system."

Only 10 black Intimidator Camaros were produced to honor the legendary NASCAR driver's fifth Winston Cup Championship in 1991, according to Barrett-Jackson.

The Camaro sold this weekend was the only one signed by his wife Teresa and all four children, including popular NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr.

A used 2011 Camaro SS usually goes for $25-30,000, but it's understandable why this one sold for so much since Dale Earnhardt was such a respected and loved athlete all-over the globe.
