BMW Donating to Team USA in New Dealership Test-Drive Program

BMW will be donating to Team USA as part of a new dealership test-drive program that will continue through February 28.

Those who wish to take part in the program can test drive any BMW model, like the new 2014 BMW X5 Sports Activity Vehicle, according to the automaker.

"The Drive for Team USA campaign is a powerful connection point for us with both prospective and current BMW owners," said Trudy Hardy, BMW of North America vice president of marketing, in a statement.

BMW also announced it will donate a total of $200,000 to Team USA, according to BMW.

The program helps support participants of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Teams.

"Americans are passionate about the athletes of Team USA and are excited to do something tangible to contribute to their journey," said Hardy in a statement. "For BMW to enable that transaction is a wonderful contribution to our business."

The automaker wants to be a "high-profile presence" at the upcoming Winter Olympics.

BMW has helped contribute in a number of ways, like redesigning the bobsled for Team USA.

Team USA hasn't won a bobsled Olympic gold medal since 1936.

BMW has prepared an extensive marketing campaign for the 2014 Olympics by releasing digital and social media ads.
