2014 Ford Explorer Priced at $30,910, $915 More Than Predecessor

Ford has announced that its 2014 Explorer will be sold for $30,910, including an $895 destination fee.

The price reflects a $915 price increase compared to its predecessor, the 2013 Explorer, according to the automaker.

New exterior color options confirmed by Ford for the new Explorer includes Sunset and Dark Side.

Other confirmed specs includes: auto headlights, second-row heated seats, and adaptive cruise control, according to Ford.

Base Explorer vehicles can come with either a 3.5-liter V6 engine or the 2.0-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine.

Ford claims the Explorer has a fuel economy of up to 28 mpg on the highway.

The Explorer competes in a segment with similar vehicles like the Chevrolet Traverse, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Toyota Highlander.

The 2014 Ford Explorer Sport was priced at $42,570, including shipping, according to Ford.
