2014 Nissan Rogue Advertisements to Appear in Times Square on New Year’s Eve

A new Nissan marketing campaign for the 2014 Rogue was confirmed by the automaker this week which will feature advertisements in Times Square on New Year's Eve.

The redesigned vehicle will be displayed in "animated billboards" during the countdown to midnight in New York City.

Nissan will also run Rogue advertisements in Times Square throughout the rest of January, according to a company statement.

The Rouge is sold for a base price of $23,350, including a $860 destination fee. The price represents a $2,180 increase compared to the 2013 Rouge, according to the automaker.

New Rogue commercials makes the vehicle seem like an action-hero, including one scene that shows the vehicle on top of a commuter train.

Viewers are warned that the commercial is a "fantasy" and they should not attempt anything done by the vehicle.

Nissan said the commercials were created to "celebrate the energy and boldness of the Rogue."

The 2014 option uses a 170-hp, 2.5-liter inline-four engine and is available with both front-and-all-wheel drive, according to Nissan.

Adding all-wheel drive coasts an additional $1,350.

The new Rouge went on sale on Nov. 13, and vehicles are produced in Smyra, Tennessee, according to USA Today.
