iPhone 6 Release Date: June Unveiling Possible For New Device

The iPhone 6 could be released as early as June 2014 according to a report by Pingzine.com.

The website thinks that a new iPhone could be the marque device Apple unveils at the next Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), scheduled to be held next year in June.

Last summer Apple revealed iOS 7 and a new MacBook Air at its annual summer event.

Others seem to agree that the iPhone 6 could debut at the WWDC.

Analyst Gene Munster believes Apple will release its iPhone 6 no later than August 2014, according to the International Business Times.

Munster said the iPhone 6 will be a "blockbuster" move for Apple, compared to the release of its iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C devices.

Two models of the iPhone 6 have been discussed by multiple media outlets, one with a 4.7 inch screen and one with a 5.5 inch screen. The larger screen will help the company compete with its main rival, Samsung, which currently sells the Galaxy S4.

Both phones will also come with a larger screen than its predecessors, the iPhone 5, 5S, and 5C.

Other rumored features for the iPhone 6 includes:

-Scratch proof screens

-3D controls

-Enhanced sensors on the screen

-Curved display screen

-Facial recognition

A 64-bit A7 processor, a 128 GB option, and a 12 MP camera have also been discussed for the next iPhone as well.

A release date has yet to be confirmed by Apple as of press time.

The 2013 WWDC event was held June 10-14 in San Francisco.
