2015 Ford Mustang to Appear on 'Good Morning America' in NYC on Dec. 5

The 2015 Ford Mustang will be appearing on ABC's "Good Morning America" (GMA) in New York City on Dec. 5.

The news was revealed today, Nov. 26, on GMA, which is filmed in Times Square. GMA broadcasts from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m. EST.

The news comes after the Detroit automaker confirmed earlier this month that it would unveil its new Mustang simultaneously in six cities on four continents at 12:01 a.m. on Dec. 5.

The cities include: Dearborn, MI; New York, NY; Los Angeles, CA; Barcelona, Spain, Shanghai, China; and Sydney, Australia, according to Ford.

"We had a big decision to make about the execution of the vehicle, but most of all we had a chance to globalize this iconic vehicle," Ford global marketing chief Jim Farley said in a statement, according to Reuters.

The new vehicle will coincide with Mustang's 50th anniversary. The original model was introduced at the New York World's Fair on April 17, 1964.

Ford is planning on spending hundreds of millions of dollars on the redesign of the vehicle, which they are doing "from the ground up."

"It's an interesting time for us to launch Mustang and we want to be relevant to the part of the U.S. customer base and global customer base that hasn't thought of Ford first," Farley said.

The 2015 Mustang will go on sale in the summer of 2014.
