The 2014 Mini Cooper will be sold with a number of new safety and driver-assistance features, like a head-up display, according to BMW.
The new Mini will be revealed simultaneously at the 2013 Tokyo Auto Show and 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show.
The 2014 Mini Cooper will also come equipped with a digital headlight assist system, traffic sign memory and a parking assist system.
"(Minis will) roll out a number of innovative driver assist systems that also use intelligent networking for the exchange of information between driver and vehicle," the automaker said in a statement.
A new display projects information onto a folding screen on the dashboard instead of the windshield, according to the BMW. Some of the information the display has been designed to project includes speed and navigation instructions.
The new park assist system will assist drivers with parallel parking by using ultrasound sensors to measure potential parking spaces as the car drives by.
Once a big enough space is located, the space will be displayed in the Mini central information display. Automatic parking can be activated simply by pressing a button.
A driver does not have to touch the steering wheel while the vehicle is parking.
The digital headlight assist system automatically activates and deactivates the high beams, depending on traffic and lighting conditions.
The traffic sign memory system will allow the Mini driver to "retain an overview despite the jungle of signs he encounters," the automaker said.
Drivers will be able to know the permitted maximum speed at all times, so Mini owners won't have an excuse if they get pulled over.
The new Mini Cooper is set to go on sale in early 2014.
