Hollywood veteran Kurt Russell has officially joined the cast of "Fast & Furious 7," according to MTV.com.

Russell appears in a photo released by Universal Pictures in what looks like an auto repair shop alongside "Fast & Furious" regulars Vin Diesel and Paul Walker.

Universal has yet to confirm how big a role Russell will play as the film is already loaded with stars.

Russell, 62, has appeared in hit movies like "Escape from New York," "The Thing," "Stargate," "Miracle," "Poseidon" and "Death Proof."

Diesel posted the picture of the three action heroes on his Facebook page and seemed excited Russell has joined the cast.

"Kurt Russell, such an honor to work with," said "Fast & Furious 7" star Diesel on his Facebook page.

Returning actors include Diesel, Walker, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Ludacris and Michelle Rodriguez.

Tony Jaa, Djimon Hounsou, and UFC fighter Ronda Rousey are also joining the cast for the seventh installment.

Lucas Black is rejoining the cast after being left out of the last three movies.

Filming for the new movie started this month and Diesel and Walker were both spotted shooting a graveyard scene in Atlanta.

"Fast & Furious 7" will hit theaters on July 11, 2014.
