Ferrari Introduces ‘Powerful’ 458 Speciale Concept Car (PHOTOS)

Ferrari revealed this week that its 2014 458 Speciale will officially debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show, though people are already impressed by the powerful supercar.

The Ferrari 458 Speciale is equipped with a modified version of the 4.5-liter V8 engine that delivers 596 hp and 398 lb.-ft. of torque at 6,000 rpm.

In comparison, the base Ferrari 458 Italia delivers 562 hp according to Ferrari's website.

The engine was called the automaker's "most powerful naturally aspirated V8 ever" and the "most aerodynamically efficient range production car in Ferrari history" by Krista Florin, a company spokeswoman.

The new vehicle is capable of going 0 to 62 in just 3.0 seconds, and can go from 0 to 124 mph in 9.1 seconds.

Ferrari's 458 Speciale has a dry curb weight of 2,844 lbs., a decrease of approximately 198 lbs. according to Ferrari.

A number of features included with the 458 Speciale vehicle, which have yet to be revealed, will become standard features in upcoming Ferrari models, according to Ferrari.

Pricing will be announced in Sept. at the Frankfurt Auto Show. The vehicle is expected to be sold for around or over $250,000.
