Personalizing Your Car And Giving It The WOW Factor

There are many reasons why people choose to modify their cars; most do it to increase the spec and make the car more desirable, others do it to make their cars unique to them, or because they think that it looks good.

Adding extra spec or body kits

Many different body kits and mods are available to spruce up your car and make it how you want it to be. Mods can make small improvements to an existing car, like adding a free-flowing exhaust can add horsepower as well as fuel economy. Some, like the wrx mods for the Subaru, are very desirable.

When thinking about modifying your car, make sure to get a fully qualified mechanic on board or take your car to your nearest main dealer. For safety reasons, it is best not to modify your car yourself, even if you think you know what you are doing.

Make sure that if you are thinking of getting your car modified that it will still be able to remain for road use and that the modifications you have done do not push into a track-only vehicle

Sprucing up the interior

One of the quickest ways you can make your car feel your own and put your own stamp on it is to change its interior. There are lots of car seat covers available on the market, but you do have to be aware that the quality of most is quite questionable. However, there are businesses out there that will custom make your seat covers, and you can get quotes for these with samples. These do not come cheap, but for the look of it, they are well worth the money, especially if you are looking at reupholstery in real leather.

There are also businesses that will spruce up, repair, or even completely change the rest of the interior of your car. So if your car is old and looks a bit scuffed or tired, they can bring it back to its original grandeur, or if you do not like the interior and want it to totally reflect you and your personality, they will change it completely and give it a totally new look.

Enhancing the exterior look

There are many ways of changing the exterior of a car. There are the modifications that heighten the spec, such as exhausts, body kits that enable you to enlarge the wheels and adding the skirts and spoilers, etc., but there are other things such as having special paintwork completed or even paying for a totally bespoke paint job designed by either yourself or a local artist to give the real WOW factor.

There are also body wraps or transfers available on the market. Wraps and transfers can be cheaper than getting a professional paint sprayer to repaint the whole of your car or do a bespoke design, and they can give a very good finish. However, they only last between 5 and 7 years before they start to peel, crack or fade. Although they do look good, and there are many different variations on the market to choose from, they will not give you that unique feel if that is what you are after.
