2017 Ram Power Wagon Wrangles With 2017 Jeep Wrangler: Which Of The Two Won?

Alright, the Wrangler has some serious competition. Many off-roaders may most likely have the Wrangler as its gold standard. Nothing wrong with that at all. However, sometimes the competition does better. Will this be the case between the 2017 Ram Power Wagon and the 2017 Jeep Wrangler?

The 2017 Jeep Wrangler stays true to the original design, which is definitely an awesome thing for the purists. The Wrangler is all about intense off-roading that it may have had compromised some of its comfort levels. Well, most don't mind that as the Jeep Wrangler is not one to cushion its passengers to sleep. It is to deliver and take people to places where regular SUVs can't go.

As perfect as it is in delivering the best off-roading experience, it does have some misgivings. For one, it gives a rough ride and a little disappointing fuel economy. Unfortunately, its safety ratings fall below the standard set by some of its competitors. Jeep may also have taken the "purist" approach too literally that its infotainment system is considered a little outdated.

The 2017 Jeep Wrangler is powered by a 3.6-liter V-6 engine, which is capable of producing 285-horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Well, unfortunately, it falls flat in its towing capacity for only being capable of 2,000 pounds. What's good though is its acceleration can go from zero to 60 mph in 6.9-seconds. This is pretty impressive for a vehicle this size.

On the other hand, there is this serious opponent in the form of 2017 Ram Power Wagon. It is even considered as the off-roading truck one must ever have. This is some serious pronouncement as it clearly says the Wrangler may not match its capabilities. However, this may actually make so much sense.

The Ram Power Wagon is powered by a 6.4-liter V-8 engine, which is capable of 410-horsepower and 429 pound-feet of torque. Even more extreme is that it can tow up to 10,030 pounds and has a maximum payload of 1,510 pounds.

Right, with all these given, clearly, the 2017 Ram Power Wagon stomps on the 2017 Jeep Wrangler. However, others may argue that this is not even a worthy comparison. The Ram Power Wagon should at least be compared to the likes of the Raptor and Tundra, but well, the Wrangler is the Wrangler — everything else may have to be compared to it.

The 2017 Ram Power Wagon shuts down the 2017 Jeep Wrangler based on its specifications. However, the Wrangler has an upcoming truck and a newer and better 2018 model. That may put everything else in perspective. For the mean time, the Ram Power Wagon deserves to be lauded for winning this battle!
