2018 Hyundai Sonata Vs. 2018 Honda Accord: Epic Japanese And Korean Rivalry

Sedans are definitely making waves. Obviously, SUVs and hot hatches are two of the leading segments but sedans are closely trailing behind in terms of popularity. Both the 2018 Hyundai Sonata and 2018 Honda Accord are known to be the best in this segment. Experts are looking forward to seeing if the Korean car overtakes the Japanese or vise-versa.

The 2018 Honda Accord is highly talked about especially when it is scheduled to be unveiled on July 14. This is set to take place at 11 a.m. Eastern. Even better, Honda offers a livestream of the reveal on its official Youtube page. This upcoming Japanese wonder promises more efficiency, more styling, and more fun factor.

For one, Honda decides to stop its V-6 for 2018 and have it replaced with a pair of inline-4 engines instead. Its base engine is powered by 1.5-liter inline-4 based on Civic Sport. There is also a more powerful 2.0-liter inline four that has the same underpinnings from Civic Type R. Even better, a hybrid Accord is expected to happen as well.

This is definitely one of the most awaited events. Honda Accord is known for being an impressive sedan, which has been making waves in the U.S. over the years. The addition of 2018 Honda Accord is sure to continue such legacy.

The 2018 Hyundai Sonata, on the other hand, is leading the way in its own right. For a vehicle this impressive, it is considered as a great bargain! The base 2018 Hyundai Sonata SE only has a price tag of $22,050. The Korean manufacturer proves that affordability and the state-of-the-art product is definitely possible.

The base comes with a 2.4-liter inline-4, which is capable of producing 185-horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque. it also offers blind-spot monitoring, backup camera, automatic headlights, and a seven-inch Display Audio infotainment system. Its other trims such as the Eco, SEL, and the Limited are equally impressive as well.

The 2018 Hyundai Sonata is arriving in dealerships this summer and 2018 Honda Accord is scheduled to have its unveiling next month. Experts and car enthusiasts need not wait for too long to see what both can offer and deliver. In this competition, both are clearly the winners!
