2018 Nissan Frontier: Ready To Have An Overall Updated Look After 12 Years?

The 2018 Nissan Frontier is expected to be all set and all ready to take on the U.S. roads soon enough. Even better, it may come with an updated look, which is considered long overdue. The last time it had a newer model/redesign was 12 years ago.

The 2018 Nissan Frontier is expected to retain its diesel powertrain from the previous models. Nissan plans on to cut its 2.8-liter Cummins engine and have it replaced with engines from the Navara. The Frontier Pro trim may come with 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission. It is expected to deliver 152-horsepower and 171 pound-feet of torque.

The 2018 Nissan Frontier may come in a little bit weaker compared to its other contemporaries for its 2.3-liter diesel engine, which is responsible for 200-horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. Though other of its contemporaries may possess more power and capability, the Frontier's output is adequately enough. However, this has yet to be confirmed by Nissan.

What holds more water is the possibility for a bigger V-6 engine which is about 4.0-liter V-6 mated to a seven-speed automatic gearbox. Such bigger engine is responsible for 262-horsepower and 281 pound-feet of torque.

Nissan is likely to refine its current Frontier line with not much of drastic changes. The current model is known to be a well-rounded pickup truck, which belongs to the midsize segment. It may not immediately be on top of everyone's choice but it is capable of its strictest sense. It did well in Ike Gauntlet towing, off-roading and many other tests that showcased what it can bring on the road.

The 2018 Nissan Frontier may break its reputation for being stale. Note that the last update came in back in 2011 and as earlier reported, the total redesign happened some 12 years ago back in 2004.

The 2018 Nissan Frontier may be reported to not have so much of a drastic change, however, it is expected to at least boast of a different character and demeanor altogether. It is best to stay tuned for more updates on the 2018 Nissan Frontier soon to be available.
