The 2018 BMW X7 is BMW's largest SUV ever produced. It is expected to be previewed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September and car enthusiasts are eagerly waiting to see it in all of its "large" and full-scale glory.

The 2018 BMW X7 is all set to give the Mercedes GLS and Range Rover a run for its money. The X7 sits at the top of its model together with, of course, the 7 Series. It has been spotted several times being tested. In spite of its heavy camouflage, spies have managed to catch few glimpses of how it is supposed to look like as it is unveiled.

The familiar BMW design features such as halo daytime running lights and kidney grilles lay underneath the heavy cover. The 2018 X7 is developed specifically for the U.S. and Chinese market. However, folks from the U.K. may also get hold of this large SUV wonder.

The BMW X7 somehow resembles a stretched version of prototypes previously seen for next-gen BMW X5. The only difference is that the X7 looks more muscular especially at the front section. It is also reported to ride on flexible CLAR platform, which may underpin most of BMW's models from 3-Series and up.

It boasts of lightweight construction. This is where it gets better. Yes, it is the largest SUV but the lightweight materials used (like carbon fiber-reinforced plastic) contribute to its significant light weight. Lightweight translates to enhanced performance altogether. In this regard, it is true that bigger is always better- granted it is lightweight.

The 2018 BMW X7 has been recently spotted in Munich. Yes, it is still under heavy camouflage but it's not so much of a bother. This only means that it is just around the corner simply awaiting its grand reveal in a few months. SUVs are at its hottest, especially in the luxury segment. The upcoming BMW X7 is sure to bring in the goods for a good competition so better watch out!
