Samsung Galaxy S4 Sales On Pace to Hit 10 Million in First Month, Selling Faster Than S3 (VIDEO)

After only being on the market for only a month, Samsung's Galaxy S4 will hit 10 million in sales according to Samsung's co-CEO Shin Jong-kyun.

Once it reaches 10 million units sold sometime next week, the S4 will become the fastest-selling smartphone in the company's history.

It took the Samsung Galaxy S3 50 days to reach the 10 million mark, meaning the S4 is well ahead of its predecessor's sales pace. It took the S2 five months to reach 10 million according to CNET.com.

The 5-inch HD Super Amoled display is powered by a 1.9GHz quad-core processor. The device only weights approximately 0.29 lbs according to Samsung.

"It is selling much faster than the previous model S3," Jong-kyun said on Thursday in Seoul," said Jong-kyun in a press statement. "The S4 will be Samsung's first 10 million seller device less than a month after its official debut," the co-CEO said, according to the report.

The new galaxy features a 13MP camera, capable of taking simultaneous front and back photos with Dual Camera, and users can edit them right away with Eraser Shot.

The Touch Free capability provides a new way users can interact with their smartphones. By just waving your hand at the screen you can accept calls, or read content by tilting the phone or your head with Smart Scroll.

Users can purchase the phone from AT&T for $200 with a two-year contract. T-Mobile sells the phone for a $150 down payment followed by 24 payments of $20. Sprint and Verizon sell the phone for $250 with a two-year contract.

The device is now available at most major cellphone providers like AT& T, Verizon, Sprint, and T-Mobile. The phone can also be purchased at Best Buy and Walmart.
