The German automobile company, Porsche, has impressively expanded their 911 product line with the GTS models. The latest one is the 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS in rear-wheel drive. When it comes to technology and visual design, GTS models stands out in the 911 line-up.
The variants are based on wide all-wheel-drive chassis measuring 1852 mm on rear-wheel-drive models. For the model's exterior, it comes with a new front apron that showcases its sporty character. As to the front end, it is aerodynamically optimized. In addition, a low front spoiler and an increased rear spoiler extension reduce the front and the rear axle lift force compared to Carrera S models.
The 911 Carrera GTS also has the gene that comes with a shaped interior. The model's Track Precision app has been also developed along with its other features such as automatic recording, driving data analysis on a smartphone, and detailed display. Passengers will also enjoy the comfort brought by the car's seats that are made from Alcantara leather with new stitching pattern. In addition, the seats also offer 4-ways electrically adjustments for an increased support and comfort.
The 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS is powered with a newly developed 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbocharge flat engine that comes with an increased power up to 331 kW or 450 PS. This figure shows that the model delivers 22 kW or 30 hp more than the 911 Carrera S, and 15 kW or 20 hp more than corresponding prior GTS model that comes with a naturally aspirated engine.
With the model's maximum torque of 550 Nm, it delivers a better elasticity and acceleration figures. Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) is a sports chassis that lowers the body by ten millimeters. This feature is also included in all GTS models as standard.
The 2018 Porsche 911 Carrera GTS model is now available for order. Including a value-added tax and country-specific equipment, the price starts at 124,451 euros. All GTS variants are also available with a manual seven-gear transmission or an optional Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK).
