Hyundai just released a new teaser for its first long-range electric sports utility vehicle (SUV). Dubbed the Kona, reports said the company could likely sell the vehicle for $39,000 to compete with other newly-released EVs.

The video teaser showed the Kona electric SUV at the production line. Carefully shot to not give away too much, the video showed the car's head-up display and revealed how much the South Korean automaker is bent on going high-tech for this model.

The video showed the car's display features as an 8.0-inch projection with a luminance of 10,000 candelas per square meter. This luminance is supposed to help with daytime driving and visibility, according to Performance Drive. Watch the teaser video below.

Hyundai's Kona got its name after a Hawaiian region, as per Car Buyer. In previous teasers, the company highlighted that the Kona will have a "progressive character" as a sub-compact SUV vehicle.

Car enthusiasts expect the Kona will have a distinctive chunky form that's indicative of its durability. Hyundai also hinted in past teasers that the SUV will carry its new signature cascading grille, headlights with LED Daytime Running Lights, as well as standard LED lights.

Details to the car's powertrain and the front and rear end's designs have not been divulged. The Kona electric car will likely carry a battery capacity of 50 kWh, according to Auto Evolution. If anything, it's also likely that the Kona will share a similar engineering as Hyundai's other electric car, the Niro Electric for Kia.

Along with the new video, Hyundai also announced that the Kona will be fully unveiled on June 13, as per Driver Spark.
