2017 Acura MDX: New Exterior; Old Distinctive And Attractive Design

The 2017 Acura MDX comes with new exterior but stays loyal to its distinctive and attractive design. It has garnered good and encouraging reviews from experts and it is easy to understand why. This is one of the best luxury mid-sized SUV around. However, is it still the best?

The 2017 Acura MDX has been considered a crowd favorite. Unfortunately, it is no longer the best. Newer models have overtaken this mid-SUV. It enjoyed its moment at the top, so "it's good while it lasts" as this earth-shattering statement says. The good point is that it is still a good SUV-Period.

The Acura MDX is not all-new for this year. However, its signature Acura grille is gone. This has been replaced by pentagonal diamond-pattern air intake. There are also minor changes such as its new exhaust outlets and sheet-metal revisions.

The latest innovation comes from its introduction of a hybrid model. It uses the NSX powertrain, which significantly increases its power and efficiency. Its safety features and equipment is now made standard on base models.

The 2017 Acura MDX does offer active driver aids that are worth it for its price. It boasts of impressive acceleration smoothness from its V-6 engine. Comfort is of the essence here. Being a mid-sized SUV, it has an even more spacious and quiet cabin perfect for family use.

The standard MDX is well-equipped with features, however, the Advanced is even better. It wouldn't be called Advanced for anything, now would it? All three trims namely: Standard, Advanced and Technology are powered by 3.5-liter V-6 engine mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The Sports Hybrid, however, uses smaller 3.0-liter V-6 combined with electric motors.

The 2017 Acura MDX's infotainment system, however, is reviewed to be difficult to operate. Not many are fans of it. Its cargo space is also significantly less than its three-row rivals.
