2017 SsangYong Korando Now On Sale! New SUV Offers More Safety Features

Details for the 2017 SsangYong Korando have been revealed. The new Nissan Qashqai rival boasts of its safety features.

The 2017 SsangYong Korando is now on sale with two trim level variants. Buyers can choose from the base SE level which is a two-wheel drive and the upgraded ELX level which has a four-wheel-drive system.

The 2017 SsangYong Korando SE sells at $22,000 (£17,000). This base car has electric and heated door mirrors, tinted rear windows and roof rails. It also comes with Bluetooth connectivity and air-conditioning.

The 2017 SsangYong Korando ELX begins at $28,430 (£22,000). This upgraded level comes with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display, equipped with satellite navigation.

The Korando ELX provides more safety features too. The new SUV has front and rear parking sensors plus a rear-view camera.

The new SUV is equipped with Hill Start Assist (HSA) system. This system helps the driver to avoid rolling backward when starting out on an incline hill.

The new Korando also features the Emergency Stop Signal (ESS). The emergency flashers of the car will automatically be activated once the driver takes a rapid brake.

There are six airbags deployed in the car. Front and side airbags are provided to protect the driver and front passenger. Whereas, curtain airbags are available to protect the passengers from the first and second-row seats.

Moreover, driving gets more comfortable with its heated leather seats. It also comes with a heated steering wheel for easier manipulation.

On the outside, the new Korando gets some discrete design improvements. A more distinct shoulder-wing grille design can now be noticed.

The new Korando comes with LED daytime running lights and headlamps too. This new lighting system adds elegance to the new SUV. It is also equipped with projection headlamps for more accurate visibility at night.

In terms of performance, the 2017 SsangYong Korando runs with e-XDi220 2.2-liter Diesel engine. This can deliver maximum 400Nm torque at 1,400rpm.
