Thanks to an independent company, Hondata, the Honda Civic is made even more powerful. To make it even more interesting, such upgrade only costs below $700.

Hondata has made the Honda Civic even more powerful to its already capable 1.5-liter engine. The company has added 35-horsepower more and 60 pound-feet of torque more without ANY added parts. This is definitely good news for the practical car enthusiast. What was done to achieve such a feat?

This is because of an extra boost from the factory turbo. The retooled mapping paves the way for its 1.5-liter engine to produce 225-horsepower and 254 pound-feet of torque. Civics with CVT will either have 3 or 6 PSI increases to suit its transmission while at the same time delivering more power compared to the stock.

 Hondata tune also allows the engine to make more power for a considerable additional time. It also widens the Civic's distance, even surpassing that of Si which is stronger when compared. Hondata worked in no-lift shift capabilities which provide significant power and keeps the revs from dropping when braking and dealing with corners.

The no-lift shifting capabilities are expected to pass California emissions testing. The starting price of manual Honda Civic is at $21,600 having the 1.5-liter turbocharged engine. However, with the tune, the new total may be at $22,200.

Owners can also buy Hondata's FlashPro tool for only $695 which enables the users to switch between stock whenever they feel like it. There is still no news on the price of the new Honda Civic Si, however, with this Hondata upgrade available, it is certainly worth it.

The Honda Civic tune by Hondata offers a good boost for Honda Civic owners. What's even more noteworthy is that they don't even need to shell out a ridiculous amount of money to experience more power.
