The United States has since been waiting for HMD Global to send out the Nokia 6 devices. But it may happen soon as Nokia recently received the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certificate.

This is a giant, massive, step so that the U.S. can then experience the comeback of Nokia, following the footsteps of Nokia 3 and Nokia 5. And being out since January, we don't need to guess the specs of the Nokia 6, having been released in China first.

Compared with other smartphones in the market to date, Nokia 6 isn't a powerhouse. It sort of belongs to the mid-level devices. To start, it has a Gorilla Glass 3-protected 5.5-inch LCD display with 1080 x 1920 full HD resolution and a Snapdragon 430 chipset with an octacore 1.4 GHz CPU paired with an Adreno 505 graphics processor. It comes with 3GB of RAM and 32 GB of expandable storage.

In terms of camera, its 16 MP rear cam has an f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, and laser auto focus, while the front-facing camera used for selfies and others has 8MP. The Nokia 6 already runs on Android 7.0 Nougat, but just prior to its global launch, it was updated to Android 7.1.1.

The handset comes with a fingerprint sensor. And of course, keeping the lights on is a 3,000 mAh battery.

Although U.S. pricing is not available as of this writing, UK prices for the Nokia 6 is equivalent to $297. That should be more or less enough to gauge the pricing for U.S. markets once it launches.

Considering a phone with these specs and a price tag with less than half of the Samsung Galaxy S8, well Nokia 6 certainly could be a great contender in the budget phone segment. And this is Nokia, one of the leading cellphone manufacturers in the world, years before. But they just might re-claim that back.
