All-New Acer Leap Ware Fitness Watch Coming This July In North America

Acer just unveiled its new smartwatch called Acer Leap Ware fitness watch at its global press conference held in New York. The new smart fitness watch gets a polished stainless steel circular frame with a minimalistic design.

The device will be powered by MediaTek MT2523 chipset and MT2511 bio-sensing chip that allows different fitness tracking features. It's capable of monitoring heart rate, stress/fatigue level, stamina, and exposure to ultraviolet rays. The device is also said to offer up to three to five days of battery life.

Acer's new Leap Ware fitness watch features a 1.6-inch face with scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass SR+ coating. It will come with an IPX7 rating making the watch water resistant. It also comes with a built-in LED light, which is likely to act as a flashlight in dark places. Buyers will have two color options to choose from Navy Blue or Light Brown.

"As the pace of modern lifestyles become ever more hectic, people demand technology that can keep them on track and motivated to pursue their goals," said MH Wang, General Manager, Smart Device Products, IT Products Business, Acer Incorporated. "The new Acer Leap Ware is designed to act as a virtual coach to help people go, track, and share, sending them reminders and alerts when they need them the most."

In addition, the company's new smartwatch will be compatible with Android and iOS via Liquid Life app. Aside from fitness data, the watch will also show calling and message notifications. Users can set daily fitness goals with notifications to coach them via Liquid Life app.

The app will let users receive Power Coins through a few activities such as running, biking, and more. Users can redeem their Power Coins in the Liquid Life Market for items, rewards and even discounts.

Acer Leap Ware fitness watch will be released in North America this coming July for $139. Acer teamed up with MediaTek and Taiwan's Easycard company to manufacture 13,000 units of the special edition smart watches for the 2017 Universiade Taipei games this August.
