‘Call Of Duty: WW2’ 101: Everything You Need To Know From Release Date, Platforms, Campaign, Multiplayer, To Zombies

"Call of Duty: WW2" details have been finally released to the masses by Sledgehammer during their worldwide Livestream reveal. In fact, this has confirmed the earlier leaks and details include platforms, release schedule, the zombies, multiplayer, and campaigns.

Release date and platforms. Let's cut to the chase. Sledgehammer's World War-era shooter game will launch on Nov. 3, and that's a Friday. The game will be available for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.

For Nintendo Switch owners, although there isn't official information that "COD: WW2" is coming to the hybrid console, Activision hasn't totally ruled out the possibility. But we will see, hopefully.

Campaign. In stunning HD, players will return to the game's roots, including historical locations and "true-to-history" arsenal for its campaign and multiplayer modes. Speaking of roots, players will land on the beaches of Normandy and then they will fight through France, Belgium, and Nazi Germany.

As the soldier, the end of the trailer would say, "Welcome to the Bloody 1st." This is because players will find themselves in the 1stInfantryy Division, as in "Call of Duty 2: Big Red One."

Multiplayer. Speaking of multiplayer, there wasn't much information discussed, or shown for that matter, regarding the multiplayer mode, Sledgehammer did shed light on a few interesting details. There will be new Headquarters that will offer a robust social space for engagement off the frontlines. Basically, this is the gateway for multiplayer interaction and awards and recognition.

And there are new Divisions as a new way for players to get engaged in the multiplayer career. There a variety of options to choose from. War Mode is a new multiplayer experience where players are immersed in WW2 battles, as Allied and Axis powers clash in "team-driven gameplay in the fight for strategic objectives."

And finally, boots-on-the-ground gameplay marks the return to iconic boots and features an arsenal of World War 2-era weapons and fast-paced, heart-pumping, intense run-and-gun action.

Multiplayer Beta is PS4 first. Continuing with the "PlayStation First" approach, Activision has confirmed that a close beta is indeed coming for those who have pre-ordered "Call of Duty: WW2." However, as to when this will be, we will find out.

Guns. Sledgehammer Games boss Michael Condrey said that weapons for "COD: WW2" were uniquely defined."Obviously, we have the classics that people know and love like the SMG-44 and the Garand, the rifles, the SMGs like the Thompson or the Grease Gun--but clearly shotguns and LMGs meant things, and the battlefields would respond," he added.

Nazi Zombies. For additional fun, Sledgehammer put together Nazis and Zombies, hence Nazi Zombies. Co-founder Michael Condrey noted that there would be a "smallish squad co-op experience" and it would be an "adrenaline filled, dark new mode." The co-op will apparently take the form of "a new and original story" featuring zombies.

We will know more "Call of Duty: WW2" as it is expected Activision will reveal more this June at the E3. Check out the official trailer of "COD" WW2" below which is launching on November 3 for PCPS4, and Xbox One.
