Automotive News and NHRA Negative Reviews On 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon; What's The Latest?

The 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon is in hot waters following the ban it received from the National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) that will prevent it from racing in local drag strips. But the question is, should it be banned on public roads?

Tagged as the "world's fastest production car" this monster car can go from 0-60 mph in only 2.3 seconds. Imagine the kind of ride passengers will get with a 140 mph quarter mile run in just 9.65 seconds. It will be a hell-raising ride indeed.

So, will this be the end for the drag race car? Absolutely not! According to the source, NHRA will allow the 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon to race once the driver earns an NHRA Competition license. Drivers were asked to wear his full gear. This means they are required to wear fire suits and helmet. Also, fire extinguisher and a roll cage should be installed.

However, now that the NHRA banned it for drag strip racing without the safety gears, license and set up, will it be dangerous in the streets, too? Automotive News editorial has a strong message for the company saying that its registration as a "roadworthy automobile should be banned."

The news website feels that it is unsafe for motorists to be with this supercar on the same road. It points out the cars' speed and acceleration might not be suitable for public roads. Automotive News mentioned that the 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon is a result of the company's misguided corporate choices.

AN added that the car might endanger the lives of the motorists. It can be recalled that the NHRA banned this vehicle on its "out-of-the-factory form" and since it also cited its speed as one of the reasons for the ban, the more that it should be banned from the streets.

Meanwhile, Forbes website mentioned that the Dodge Demon tires are not fit for regular roads, meaning it will easily wear and replacement will be expensive. Some weather conditions will not be good for its tires and most likely, because of this fans won't be seeing much of these cars on the road.

The impact that this issue might cause the motorists shouldn't be taken lightly.  Car enthusiasts can only wait for more updates regarding the 2018 Dodge Challenger Demon.
