Check Out The Video Of The 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE Setting Its Time Around The Nürburgring

Hoping to set another record time at the 'Ring, the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE returned to the Nürburgring, its second home. The video below shows what this mean machine is capable of.

StatesideSupercars posted a video on YouTube showcasing the ZL1 1LE's seemingly official attempt of shaving off seconds of the time set by the Camaro ZL1 at the Green Hell. You can check out the exciting video below.

At 7.29.6, the 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 has set its time at the Nürburgring, outperforming other performance vehicles like Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera, Koenigsegg CCX, and McLaren 650S. Sporting additional track capability, it will be of no surprise if the ZL1 1LE surpasses the ZL1's record lap time at the Green Hell.

The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE is equipped with more aggressive aerodynamics and GM's set of Dynamic Suspensions Spool Valve (DSSV) dampers. Under the hood is a 6.2-liter supercharged V-8 engine delivering 650 horsepower and 650 pound-feet of torque to take down the Nürburgring. Added to that are massive, wider, and sticky tires and a curb weight that's slightly lighter.

However, ZL1's optional 10-speed automatic is not available for the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE. Hence, if this mean machine was able to set a record time, then it was the use of a stick and 3 pedals.

The 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE was originally introduced at the 2017 Daytona 500. And thanks to its improved features, it might, just possibly, dip into BMW M4 GTS and C6 Corvette ZR1 lap time territories.

There is no official word as of this writing whether or not the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE was able to take down the Nürburgring, but its track-inspired engineering and additional aerodynamics, shaving the ZL1's time could be possible. And then there's the C7 Corvette ZR1 that's likely to take its chance at the Green Hell, which is something to look forward to.
