‘Star Wars: Battlefront II’ Updates: EA Announced Paul Blackthorne’s Role

"Star Wars: Battlefront II" latest updates reveal the new character to be played by "Arrow" actor Paul Blackthorne. EA released an official statement announcing the identity of the actor's character in the game.

EA has officially announced the new character for the upcoming "Star Wars: Battlefront II." The announcement was done through the official Twitter account of EA.

EA took to its Twitter account a post announcing Paul Blackthorne has joined Janina Gavankar as one of the members of Inferno Squad in "Star Wars: Battlefront II." The post also included the original tweet of the actor.

Apparently, EA retweeted the post of Paul Blackthorne where the latter revealed the identity of his character. The latter's tweet simply contains the name of his character, "Gideon" and the hashtag "#infernoSquadron."

Paul Blackthorne was asked by a fan regarding his role in "Star Wars: Battlefront II." The actor graciously responded the fan's query with a tweet saying "Gideon," referring to the name of his character.

Paul Blackthorne's inclusion in "Star Wars: Battlefront II" was teased during the recently concluded Star Wars Celebration. The actor was briefly spotted in the behind-the-scenes video that was presented in the event.

Although Paul Blackthorne was spotted in the video, EA has not discussed any details about his role. It was only through the recent tweet that EA released the official word about the actor's role.

Paul Blackthorne's character will be under the Inferno Squad. "True Blood" star Janina Gavankar will play the role of Iden Versio, the leader of Inferno Squad.

It remains to be seen how Gideon will fit into the storyline of the game. In another tweet, the actor just teased that he has been having a blast doing his role on "Star Wars: Battlefront II."

"Star Wars: Battlefront II" is scheduled to be released on Nov. 17 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. The new sequel has been announced to offer offline local co-op on console. However, there will be no season pass for this new sequel.
