Spyker Customers Prefer Manual Transmission When Most Go Automatic!

Just when everyone prefers to drive the automatic transmission, Spyker recently revealed that their customers are mostly different from the rest. Spyker reported that their customers actually prefer a manual transmission over the automatic.

Spyker chief, Victor Muller said that only a few of their customers prefer the automatic transmission option on its recently unveiled Spyker C8 Preliator. He said during the interview that the enthusiastic car connoisseurs (simply put, car enthusiasts) are buying manuals again.

This could stem from the attractively exposed transmission linkage that forms part of the Stryker's cabin. The C8's orientation is more towards luxury touring than its performance. This is an entirely different case as compared to the likes of Ferrari and Lamborghini which both stopped manufacturing three pedal manuals primarily because of lack of customer interest.

However, it is important to note that Spyker will not remove the automatic transmission at all. Though most prefer the manuals, there is still a good following of its automatic. With that said, customers choosing either the manual or automatic will get 5.0-liter naturally aspirated V-8 which is capable of producing 592-horsepower and 443 pound-feet of torque.

To make things more interesting, Spyker revealed last month that it will be replacing its old Audi unit for a newer Koenigsegg. This happened despite the fact that Spyker somehow hinted that it will focus more on electric propulsion.

In connection with manual transmission preference, the Spyker C8 Preliator will have Koenigsegg V-8 for both the Coupe which was introduced back in March 2016 and the Spyder which was unveiled last March at the 87th Geneva International Motor Show.

No wonder why most prefer its manual transmission. Industry experts fondly describe it as bold, pure, and engaging. It is indeed a perfect match for Spyker C8 Preliator Coupe and the Spyder.

Everyone safely thinks that automatic transmission is the most preferred type then suddenly, here comes Spyker saying that its customers prefer its manual transmission. Even automotive trend remains unpredictable as customers' needs and wants are ever changing, just like the technology behind the best vehicles around.
