NIO ES8 Recently Made Waves After Unveiling In Shanghai

The NIO ES8 is currently making waves after its official unveiling at the Shanghai Auto Show. It is a full-sized seven-seater electric SUV. Electric vehicles are definitely a big deal in China and the NIO ES8 is a good addition. China is geared towards producing electric cars to alleviate its worsening air pollution issue.

NIO prides itself as a global automaker with operations in London and California, but it is predominantly backed by Chinese interests and its first manufacturing capacity will be based in China. It then makes a lot of sense that this upcoming SUV is centered on the demands of the Chinese market.

Being Chinese-centric, NIO came up with its full-sized SUV ideal for large families and basically to those who desire to have more space for whatever reasons. The NIO ES8 will have a 2-3-2 seating arrangement. Its length is reported to be 196-inches long with its wheelbase going over 118-inches. It is also going to be lightweight for having an all-aluminum body and chassis.

It also possesses NIO's unique design identity for having the X-bar and the company's signature Spark Beat tail lights. Interesting fact, it does have a swappable battery. Who would've thought that this is now possible for cars when it is just only something intended for mobile devices? The swappable battery promises to provide charging experience which is way better than that of typical gas stations.

William Li, NIO's chairman and founder said that the NIO ES8 is another statement of the company's vision and technical and manufacturing capabilities. These words were said as he introduced the NIO ES8 at the Shanghai Auto Show.

The NIO ES8 is definitely expected to be a popular full-sized SUV option in China. Not only does it help in solving China's increasing air pollution issue, this SUV is also capable of transporting more passengers safely as it unleashes its top-of-the-class performance.
