PlayStation's is finally getting one of the brands with an incredible racing heritage, the Porsche. Following the expiration of the exclusivity deal Porsche has with EA, the iconic brand now is unleashed into the world of video game racing.

Having been regarded as one of the best racing simulation series, the Gran Turismo never had a chance to feature Porsche vehicles, not yet at least. This was because Porsche had an exclusive license with EA that actually only recently expired.

Now, if a developer wanted to include Porsche in their game, they had to get EA's permission first. This is also one reason why the German automaker has only made random appearances in the "Forza Motorsport" series. "GranTurismo" had to use an RUF in order for players to pilot a digitized Porsche.

Finally, these all changes as PlayStation recently announced that Porsche will appear in the upcoming installment, "Gran Turismo Sport." PlayStation even officially tweeted this great news.

Sony also confirmed that beta testing for "Gran Turismo Sport" would begin in the United States. And as of this writing, the only confirmed Porsche vehicle to appear in the upcoming game is the 911 GT3 RS.

Initially, there will be 140 cars that will be included in PlayStation's "Gran Turismo Sport." And this marks the first time that the series ever feature a vehicle from the German automaker.

Originally slated for a 2016 release schedule, PlayStation's "Gran Turismo Sport" had been postponed for late 2017, for now. However, Sony has continued to tease players of the graphical beauty of the upcoming game and the beta testing that's underway.

More information regarding PlayStation's "Gran Turismo Sport" is expected as the annual E3 conference is almost here. But it is truly a good thing that the licensing deal between Porsche and EA is over, as other racing games finally get to include one of the best names in the industry.
