Ford has confirmed to keep producing its powerful Shelby GT350 and GT350R to extend to a 2018 model. The new model will have the same specs but wears a new body paint.

In celebration of National Mustang Day in the US, Ford grabbed the chance to announce its plan to continue producing its Mustang Shelby GT350 and GT350R models for another year. The new versions are set to arrive the showroom next year, as 2018 models.

The 2018 Ford Shelby GT350 and GT350R have been announced to come out with the same powerful specs of the current model. However, the new models will now be available in three new exterior colors. Buyers can choose from the Orange Fury, Lead Foot Grey or Kona Blue variants.

The brand confirmed that the 2018 Ford Shelby GT350 and GT350R models will still have its Flat-Plane Crank (FPC) 5.2-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine. The brand boasts that this naturally aspirated road-going engine is the most powerful engine launched in the history of Ford.

Furthermore, this engine can deliver 526 hp and 429 lb-ft of torque. This V8 engine is the brand's highest-revving production so far, able to rev up to 8,250 rpm.

The supercar will still have its standard RECARO cloth seat with Miko suede sport inserts. The brand's flat bottom steering wheel carrying the Alcantara and Cobra logo will still be featured in the new models.

With regard to driving experience, the sports car features the MagneRide Damping System. Drivers will be left breathless as the system produces the iconic growl of the Shelby GT350.

The MagneRIde Damping System monitors and adjusts itself thousands of times per second which create the adrenaline-fueled driving experience loved by the current users of the Shelby GT350. In addition, the six-piston Brembo front brakes of the current model will still be featured in the upcoming 2018 Shelby GT350 and GT350R.
