The All-New 2018 Lincoln Navigator Will Take On The Cadillac

Ford finally took the wraps off of its brand new 2018 Lincoln Navigator at the 2017 New York International Auto Show this past week. The car is the first new version of Lincoln's big SUV in a decade, and it signals the automaker's plan to make a serious effort in a highly profitable niche of the car industry.

Kumar Galhotra, Lincoln's brand chief, revealed the brand new 2018 Lincoln Navigator at the said event. Everything about the new Navigator is new. The car is now lighter, faster, roomier, and more luxurious compared to its predecessors.

Lincoln's design chief, David Woodhouse, said, "When designing the Navigator, we put an emphasis on ultra-luxury touch points." "We took everything the client would see and touch, and made sure it would look and feel a little more exuberant, a little more indulgent and incredibly beautiful."

On the inside, the Navigator offers three rows of seating, with many plush touches and a design view that follows the nautical-inspired themes that can be found in other recent Lincolns. The automaker touts first-class seating for all in the brand new Navigator, and this six-foot tall Fool's brief time inside one suggests that even adults will have no problem seating comfortably on the new Navigator.

Every passenger that plans to sit on the new Lincoln will be greeted by Lincoln's signature Embrace light show. Every time a passenger approaches, the Lincoln badge located in the grille lights up, its LED running lights and taillights activate in sequence, the lights behind the door handles come on, the interior lights go on in sequence, the welcome mat puddle lamp illuminates the ground below the front doors, and the power running boards deploy.

Under the hood, there is only one option available. It's a 450 hp version of Ford's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that is paired to a brand new 10-speed automatic transmission.

Pricing for the 2018 Lincoln Navigator hasn't yet been revealed. But expect it to start at a price higher than $63,515. Ford said that the brand new Navigator would arrive at U.S. Lincoln dealer this fall.
