Google Pixel 2 Release Date, Update: Another Flagship Killer Coming In October?

Google Pixel 2 is arriving as a successor to the massively popular Pixel. The smartphone from Google itself proved that there was still room in the mobile industry for one more Android, and now many are looking forward to its follow-up this 2017.

Google is tight-lipped when it comes to the Pixel 2, but no information remains uncovered forever. Lately, there have been bits of details that made its way to the internet, including its possible design.

Looking at the success of the Galaxy Edge, Samsung went ahead and ditched the flat screen in its flagships. Now, it seems like Google is to follow suit and use a curved display for its next flagship. The Infinity Display of the Galaxy S8 makes use of flexible OLED displays that are now making their way to the Pixel 2.

This will greatly enhance the appearance of the Google Pixel 2 and allow it to be more competitive in terms of looks. What matters right now is that the search engine company does not repeat the design flop of the first Pixel that turned away many interested buyers.

Under the hood, Google Pixel 2 is looking to be an aggressive competitor against the Galaxy S8. A Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 is expected paired with 6GB of RAM. There should also be at least 64GB of internal storage and an IP68 water certification that will make it waterproof.

Aside from that, the features that will make it stand out against the rest are still unknown. All will be revealed on Google Pixel 2's release date, which is pegged to be in October this year. This will put it in direct competition with the iPhone 8.

As more and more flagships are released, mobile enthusiasts are awaiting the grand reveal of the Google Pixel 2. It is expected to be one of the strongest competitors this year, so Google has high expectations to meet.
