Citroen C5 Aircross Specs Leaked Ahead Of Shanghai Preview

With almost a week remaining before the 2017 Shanghai Auto Show takes off, Citroen continues to drop new teaser of the C5 Aircross and revealed most of its features ahead of its debut. C5 Aircross has a more toned-down look than the initial Aircross concept. Accompanying the brand's latest SUV on the launching grounds will be the C-Aircross, CXPerience and the local C3-XR SUV.

Chinese media reported that the C5 Aircross will utilize the PSA EMP 2 platform and will share this with the new Peugeot 3008, but known locally as the 4008. However, both cars will not only have the same architecture but are also expected to adopt similar units which include the turbocharged 1.6-liter and 1.8-liter engines, capable of delivering 167 hp and 204 hp, respectively. A 2.0-liter turbo would soon be added to the engine's lineup.

This Aircross has a large screen installed at the center of the dashboard dominating the cabin of the SUV, and the digital display also swaps the traditional analog dials. Its minimalistic interior design allows plenty of spaces for storage. Other specifics available include a 6-speed auto gearbox, double air vents, an electronic parking brake, a multi-function steering wheel, and five drivetrain settings that would boost its off-road abilities.

Citroen has yet to specify the all of the features of the auto, but an 'Advance Comfort' program and a 'Progressive Hydraulic Cushions'-equipped suspension system are guaranteed to be featured on the show as to be illustrated by the company. The C5 Aircross will follow to run its wheels on the European soil after its launching in China by the third quarter of the year. Rumors are also echoing that the French carmaker will develop a long wheelbase edition of the SUV like the Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace/L, with a maximum of seven seats.
