2018 Range Rover Velar Stars Its Tech Prowess At The New York Auto Show

The 2018 Range Rover Velar showcased its tech features at the New York Auto Show. Car enthusiasts and industry experts definitely took notice as it promises to bring much-needed tech improvement to meet the demands of the most discerning of buyers today.

As it first debuted in Geneva, it is New York's turn to see what this new SUV can bring on the road. The underpinning of the upcoming Velar is reported to be similar as the Jaguar F-Pace. It is also comfortably somewhere between BMW X4 and X6 in terms of size.

The 2018 Range Rover Velar is considered cheaper than other Range Rover lineup, however, it has a host of impressive technologies found in the cabin. The latest Velar is a proof that "more affordable" can still be one of the best. No tech detail was spared and definitely experts and enthusiasts took notice.

The Velar uses two 10-inch touch screens with one serving as the infotainment system and the other strategically located beneath it which controls myriad of functions and settings. A 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster is also available. With all the technological advancements on this SUV, the Velar can easily be considered as the most modern among all Range Rover variants.

It is expected to be available in dealerships this summer. In connection to this, it will be offered in three engines. There is petrol powered 2.0-liter turbocharged four capable of producing 247-horspower, a basic 2.0-liter diesel producing 180-horsepower mated with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and the last being a supercharged V-6 which is powerful capable of 380-horsepower.

The exterior of the 2018 Range Rover Velar is just as impressive as what's found in its interior. The Velar favors taut lines with little visual disturbance. It also has clean exterior panels where door handles don't even break the surface.

As what Gerry McGovern, Land Rover chief design officer said, the 2018 Range Rover Velar brings a new dimension of glamor, modernity, and elegance to the brand. The brand is certainly living up to this as the all-new Velar is considered to rake in sales the moment it is made available this summer.
