Nintendo NES Classic Edition Now In Stock On Amazon, But Be Prepared To Shell Out More

Those who have been waiting for the Nintendo NES Classic Edition to restock at its original price may have to wait a bit longer, but those who can splurge a little bit on the nostalgic console can now buy one on Amazon. The gaming platform is available again on the retailer's website but at a much higher price.

The NES Classic Edition has a retail price of $59.99, but independent sellers on Amazon are selling it for as much as thrice its SRP. The cheapest unit right now costs $163.70 and can be delivered on Friday, April 14.

Nintendo's console launched on Nov. 11, 2016, and has since been then understocked. The gaming company found it hard to keep up with the demands of the console, which was taken advantage by hoarders who would then sell it at a higher price like the sellers on Amazon.

The NES Classic Edition's charisma is the nostalgia it offers. The palm-sized console only has 30 games that consist of retro titles such as "Pac-Man," "The Legend of Zelda," "Super Mario Bros.," "Metroid" and more. Owners would not be able to download more games to the console.

As of now, Nintendo has yet to fulfill its promise of producing more units soon. Other major retailers like Walmart and Target have not yet restocked the NES Classic Edition. If they do soon, interested buyers can expect the same thing to happen: all stocks will be gone in under a day.

Online tools such as this tracker can help alert consumers when the NES Classic Edition is in stock in certain stores. But according to its Stock History, stocks run out in under 10 minutes, so it is best to quickly head out to the nearest branch carrying the console once it has been listed as in stock.

Fans are still hoping that the Nintendo will release massive stocks of the NES Classic Edition, as well as the home console Nintendo Switch. More updates will be given soon.
