Audi A8 Spy Photos Reveal The New SUV Is Bigger & Lowered

The upcoming Audi Q8 has been spied while testing in Nurburgring, Germany. The new rival for BMW X6 looks bigger and lowered than its predecessor.

The new Audi Q8 was heavily camouflaged to conceal the latest design of the new SUV. However, the size of the new model is evident despite the full camouflage.

The new Q8 looks a little wider than its predecessor, Audi Q7. The new SUV also looks more lowered compared to the current model.

With the heavy camouflage, it remains to be seen the kind of engine the new model is carrying. The new Q8 may either run with a diesel engine or a turbocharged gasoline.

Reports believe that the prototype spotted while testing sports a turbocharged gasoline power. It is also speculated that the new SUV will not likely be powered by an electric motor.

On the contrary, another report says the new A8 is expected to be offered as the brand's first hybrid SUV. The theory stems from the Q8 Sport Concept that was introduced previously.

The Q8 Sport Concept features a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 hybrid that can deliver 330kW and 700Nm. With this new concept, the upcoming model is able to achieve an acceleration rate of just 4.7 seconds to cover 0-100km/h plus a top speed of 275km/h.

Furthermore, the spotted mule of Audi Q8 is also the brand's first ever four-door coupe SUV to be released. The noticeably large grille and high waistline are proofs that the new SUV is taking on the Q8 Sport Concept.

The report also mentions that the new Audi Q8 will most likely offer another engine variant. Buyers may opt to choose the new 4.0-liter TDI turbodiesel from the current model SQ7 large SUV. This new engine can deliver 320kW and 900Nm.

The upcoming Audi Q8 is speculated to be released by the end of next year. The new model might probably enter production by next year.
