The New Mercedes AMG GLC63 Is Now Powered by A V8 Engine

The Mercedes GLC63 is a highly sporty and dynamic SUV that offers extreme driving stability. Now with a V8 biturbo engine, it is more powerful than ever. Mercedes offers the widest choice in the segment with their SUV and Coupe version of the GLC63.

As reported by Truck Yeah, both GLC63 and GLC63 S Coupe will come with engines closely related to the one in the AMG GT5. The GLC63 has a 4.0-liter V8 engine that produces 469 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque. The GLC63 S Coupe, on the other hand, goes all the way up to 503 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque.

Both models will have a nine-speed shiftable transmissions and a wide range of user customizable attributes such as steering feedback, suspension stiffness, throttle response, and more. With these specifications, the GLC63 AMG S Coupe should be able to run from 0-60mph in 3.7 seconds.

According to Auto Car, the distinctive front grille and Mercedes-Benz’s signature three-pointed star are incorporated in a new styled front bumper that resembles the one used in the E63. Other changes include wider black plastic flares, V8 Turbo badges, wider sills underneath the doors, new rear bumper, and four trapezoidal shaped chromed exhaust pipes. The vehicles ride on standard 8.0-inch wide 19-inch front wheels and 9.0-inch wide 19-inch rear wheel tires.

On the inside, both models have a unique instrument graphics, AMG sport seats, AMG-specific controls within the center console, and a flat bottom steering wheel. On top of that, Mercedes has equipped both models with a Dynamic Select system that provides four different driving modes: Comfort, Eco, Sport and Sport Plus.

The top of the line S models will also receive a Race mode. Mercedes still hasn’t confirmed the prices for the models however the GLC63 is expected to start at £64,000 and the GLC Coupe at £56,000.
