The 2017 Kia Niro And Its Well-Executed Smart Design

A smart design should be a combination of aesthetics and functionality. The 2017 Kia Niro is an example of a car with a well-executed smart design.

The 2017 Kia Niro and its smart design. The 2017 Niro is a new hybrid crossover from the Korean car manufacturer. It is the company's first dedicated hybrid that runs on 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor both capable of 146 horsepower and 195 pound-feet of torque. It has a fuel economy goal of 50 miles per gallon.

The aspects of the 2017 Niro's smart design is what make the vehicle stand out. Aesthetically, the new Niro doesn't come off as a hybrid. This is because the vehicle was designed to be a visually appealing alternative to regular engine cars.

The vehicle's form and function can be attributed to the innovative design it sports. Its design features bring out the best in the vehicle and include a stylish sheet metal, a strong but light core, and amazing aerodynamics among others.

According to Kia product planner Garrett Ono, "The Niro's sheet metal is a combination of strong and sleek." It sports a look that's bold and modern just like today's passenger jets. It is impressively aerodynamic, too, with strategically placed air vents just before the front wheels to help manage airflow and reduce drag. The 2017 Niro is strong in a sense that it uses advanced high strength for a lightweight structure.

Another design feature is its use of lightweight materials that actually help in its fuel-efficiency. It also has its battery placed just beneath the rear seats and has a concealed storage hidden underneath the cargo floor both of which help maximize the vehicle's cargo volume.

Other compact crossovers are just too large compromising maneuverability. One thing is for sure, the Kia Niro 2017 model is a right-sized crossover with a design that doesn't compromise both quickness and nimbleness.
