The all-new 2018 Lynk & Co 02 Sedan has been recently spotted undergoing hot weather testing in Scandinavia in Southern Europe. First launched in October 2016, Lynk & Co is a new global brand for Geely, which is still above the Chinese car manufacturers own marque, but below Volvo.

Similar to the Lynk & Co 01 crossover, the brand new sedan's platform is based on the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) that's being created by Volvo. Being said, the new sedan will be closely related to the upcoming new Volvo XC40 SUV, and also the new generation models of the S40 sedan and V40 hatchbacks.

The all-new 2018 Lynk & Co 02 sedan seems to have a split headlight treatment, a highly visible pod for the driving lights at the vehicle's front corners, and a hidden set of main and high beams that are integrated to the car's grille. In addition, the 01 and 02 also share the same window shapes, and the new sedan will also feature a chrome arc that stretches from the base of the windscreen, across the top side of the windows, and C-pillar before it reaches the rear windshield.

The 02 is said to have the same engine that is used on the 01, which is available with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder and 2.0-liter four-cylinder engines, and a plug-in hybrid drivetrain. Meanwhile, the automaker hopes to stand out with connectivity and cloud services. All of its vehicles will always be connected to the Internet and come straight from the factory equipped with an open API, an app store, and vehicle-to-vehicle communication.

Lynk & Co's vehicles are built in China but sold globally, including in the U.S. The company aims to sell 500,000 vehicles annually within the next years.

The new 2018 Lynk & Co 02 sedan is expected to be revealed by late 2017. Deliveries will begin by 2018 in China while the rest of the world will get it by the following year.
