The Fast and Furious is a hundred-million film franchise famous all over the world. What fans might not know is that the Fast and Furious is also tossing hundreds of millions in the air during filming.
Recently, it was reported that the Fast and Furious film franchise has caused over $500 million in damages. Yes, that includes throwing a hypercar worth $3.4 million out of a skyscraper.
As fans already know, the Fast and Furious film franchise is heavily made with fast supercar chases and explosions. The upcoming eighth installment of the franchise, the Fate of the Furious, is no different.
Just basing on the numerous trailers released for the movie, fans can expect plenty of fast cars and explosions. For those curious fans, there has always been one question lingering in their minds when watching a F&F film: "How much did all of this cost?"
To answer the question, the cost of damage through all of the Fast and Furious films would add up to a total of $523,312,456. This is how much all that film damage cost taxpayers, according to the company Insure The Gap, as reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
Naturally, that computation is all hypothetical. According to a report by Motor1, movie villain Deckard Shaw (played by Jason Statham, is responsible for most the damages at $185,625,413 (£148,786,000) out of all the other characters.
Out of all the movies, on the other hand, the Furious 7 is responsible for the most damages to buildings and cars on screen. All in all, there is a total of 169 regular cars damaged, 142 destroyed, while 37 "special" vehicles were eradicated.
Out of the 37 special vehicles, the Lykan Hypersport is the single most expensive hypercar destroyed all throughout the film series. It cost $3.4 million. There were also 53 buildings damaged, 31 buildings destroyed, and 432 items were wrecked. It was established that Statham's character was responsible for the most destruction, other characters had a share fair, too.
The other characters from the film caused more than $325,759,128 (£261,108,631) in damages. That is $160,040,017 in damages more than the villains.
After The Fate of The Furious' release later this month, those numbers will be updated. The eighth entry to the film series will welcome new stars like Charlize Theron. The Fate of the Furious premieres April 14, 2017.
