Tesla Model S has gained another two feathers in their cap! The pioneering electric vehicle manufacturer has been declared the "world's fastest car" and has recently fine-tuned its autopilot features.

Tesla's Big Boss Elon Musk has tweeted that the company's latest Tesla Model S P100D has just achieved super speed of 0 to 60 miles per hour in 2.5 seconds flat! But with a downloadable software update called "Ludicrous +", its speed can go faster to 2.4 seconds from 0 to 60 mph.

Likewise in a test that surprised skeptics even more, America's Motor Trend Magazine recently reported that Tesla Model S's speed time was recorded at 2.28 seconds from 0 to 60 miles per hour. That means Tesla Model S P100D is officially the fastest car on record, faster than the Lamborghini Aventador, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Ferrari Laferrari and Bugatti Veyron.

Now for the software update to one of the unique features of the Tesla Model S P100D- the autonomous driving feature. The 8.1 software update enables the Autosteer feature to work on the Tesla Model S's speed of up to 80 miles per hour instead of just 55 mph.

Moreover, the software update allows Auto Lane Change and Lane Departure Warning - enabling the Teslas to easily change lanes. And the Summon feature moves the Tesla back and forth by remote control.

The Tesla Model S is heavier. Even at 2,242 kgs., it still can power up to 603 horsepower and a 713 lb.-ft. of torque using two electric motors and sprint time due to a 4WD frame.

Not surprising that Teslarati reported that Tesla managed to deliver a record-breaking 25,000 Model S and Model X in the first quarter of 2017. This figure represents a 69% increase over Q1 2016 deliveries - a clear indicator that Tesla Model S and Model X are the electric cars to buy this year!
