2017 F1 Grand Prix: Ferrari’s Vettel Impressed By Team’s Performance

Ferrari is still euphoric from the recent victory at the Australian Grand Prix. Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel is still impressed by the recent performance of his team believes that they might be able to recover from a rather dismal performance during last year's F1 season.

With Vettel's victory at the start of the season, Ferrari was able to score its first even F1 win since 2015. Vettel spent the first half of the race trailing Mercedes' Hamilton but was able to take the lead after the latter started to have troubles with his tire.

In a statement acquired by Crash, Vettel said, "Winning is always great. Right now it does, and it's been a very tough period, a long time for the team to have a start to the season like that."

The recent victory for Ferrari has led some observers to note that the team might have a better engine that close rival, Mercedes. While it is important to note that Hamilton's early hurdle was due to tire grips, there are a lot of talking points throughout the whole race that highlight Ferrari's impressive new power unit, according to Formula1.

Since the introduction of the turbo hybrid engine in 2014, Mercedes have been widely regarded as the class leader in terms of F1 racing. However, Ferrari was able to claw itself back into the top with constant upgrades and impressive dedication to research and development.

The 2017 F1 season is still too early to call it a year for Ferrari. Although the recent performance in Australia does highlight the point that the team is working hard to keep its pace on top of the game.

The second round of the 2017 F1 season will take place in China. The Chinese Grand Prix is scheduled on April 9.
